Business Development Manager - Creator Partnerships, Amazon Creators Team

Amazon Canada is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to be part of our Canadian Creator Business team. The role is based in Toronto, and works out of our downtown Toronto Tech Hub 5 days per week.

The Amazon Canada Creators Business Development Team collaborates with a large number of Canadian content creators including websites, publishers, and Influencers. These Creators create original content to help customers make informed purchase decisions on Amazon. Our Creators business is an integral part of the Amazon marketing mix, bringing new customers to the site, driving existing customers to discover new products or programs including the many benefits of Amazon Prime. With its global network of over 1MM publishers and influencers, the Creators program is a leader in online marketing and one of the largest paid marketing channels for Amazon.

As a customer obsessed, digital media enthusiast, you will influence and build upon the success we have had with top Canadian Publishers and Influencers. Using your deep knowledge of the industry and digital media landscape, and with a solution-oriented mindset, you will identify and develop new business relationships and opportunities for Amazon and collaborate with and influence our category, deal and product teams to develop innovative programs which help unlock new opportunities for Amazon and our Creators.

You have experience working in technical businesses and have the ability to influence technical leaders and incorporate technical requirements into negotiations and contracts.

You are an excellent oral and written communicator, and you possess an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions.

You are highly organized and have the ability to work closely and constructively with multiple internal and external stakeholders. You excel at developing relationships – both internal and external. This role will work closely with many of Amazon’s strategic businesses to structure innovative and impactful deals.

Key job responsibilities
·Manage a market segment within the Amazon Canadian Creator business

·Provide thought leadership, and educate various internal stakeholders on customer trends and investment opportunities for growth

·Own KPIs, Business Review inputs, and Creator P&L for specific market segments

·Own annual Creator revenue growth objectives for specific market segments

·Define, identify, approach and onboard to Amazon top strategic commerce content creators

·Grow and scale existing Creator partnerships

·Drive special deal terms and negotiations with content creators to optimize growth

·Drive adoption of products for creators, including tools to implement effective integrations (links, API feeds, etc.), reporting tools, product feeds etc.

·Work closely with leadership and product teams to inform product roadmap and provide feedback on product requirements

·Partner with Marketing and Retail category
leaders to support strategic Amazon businesses

·Comfortable taking initiative and operating with minimal direction.

About the team
The Creators team goal is to make Amazon the Earth’s most desired destination for Creators (influencers, digital publishers, and more) and their content. We seek to strengthen creators’ sense of community, fandom, credibility, and provide positive feedback loops. Our Business Development team directly collaborates with strategic creators to directly impact and transform the way they can create, and earn from us at scale.

- 6+ years in Business Development, Partnership or B2B customer-facing roles
- 6+ years in Online Marketing, Ecommerce, Digital Publishing or Content Marketing roles in Canada
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements
- Expert at identifying and executing successful partnership deals and large-scale marketing deals
- Highly analytical and data driven with a bias towards data-based decision making
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are a must. Frequent documentation for leadership updates expected.
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Bachelor's degree required

- Knowledge of and passion for brand strategy and digital preferred
- Experience working with affiliate marketing with Canadian media/content publishers
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
- MBA preferred

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
